Grandma Brasser's Sugar Cookies
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
3/4 cup canola oil
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tartar
4 cups flour
Mix sugars, butter, and oil together. Add beaten eggs and vanilla and mix. Add dry ingredients and mix. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Place on parchment-covered baking sheet and flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes or less.
These may be cut into shapes and decorated with frosting. They may also be made into snicker doodles by rolling in cinnamon sugar before flattening on the cookie sheet.
