Although the Pocketstone Cafe opens it's doors at 6:00 each morning, the staff can sometimes get lonely waiting for the breakfast crowd to awaken. During the winter, Gordie and Bev Smith could be counted on to keep us company in the early hours, at least on Fridays.

Yes, they're Karie's relatives, but that in no way diminishes the enthusiasm Glenn and Barbie Larsen show for the Pocketstone. And we're always happy to see them here.
We miss Justin Freeman, now that he's followed his heart to Washington. Justin watched over our equipment needs for the first year and frequently stopped in for coffee and breakfast, occasionally allowing himself a piece of pie.
Intrepid biker, private investigator, bounty hunter, and poet Benj Scout has been a regular at the bar stool designated 21 almost since we opened. In times of disorientation, the vision of Ben at his stool provides a stabilizing anchor.
Virtually as reliable as Ben, Jon DoBrocke (a partner in the local metal fabricator, Rebel Fab) has been a regular in the stool designated 22. Together with Ben, Jon likes the hometown feel of the place where everybody knows you.
In Don Diggins' mind, there has never been any question as to whose pancake recipe is best. Don almost undoubtedly holds the record for the most short stacks of Karie's cakes eaten to date.
Bachelor for life Del Ivey is another regular at the espresso bar. Retired for twenty years, all that time in Bigfork, Del is somewhat less faithful that Ben and Jon. Del has been known to sit around, occupying stools 21 to 24 almost indiscriminately.
Rande Walton is Dock Master, the guy who owns the barge that cruises the lake building and repairing docks. A state moto-cross champion and father of three of the coolest kids on the planet, Rande says he likes the nice people here, the good gossip, and the great food.
Jean Halverson is a morning person and says the Pocketstone is a "great, good energy place" to start her day. We're really happy to have her good energy here in the early morning hours.
In the minds of many, Gretchen Gates and Donna Lawson are Bigfork. We serve Gretchen's preserves on a daily basis and drink Donna's Tequila after an especially successful day. And we're always happy to have Donna and Gretchen in our cafe.
Steve and Arlene Pine came all the way from Minnesota to help with the Pocketstone's Thanksgiving Dinner last year. Most of Glacier Park was closed, but they were impressed with the parts they saw anyway.
The Ausman clan, Opal, Tracy, Terry, and Dean visited the Pocketstone on their way from Iowa to the Pacific in a motor home. Terry is David's sister.
Chloe (far right) brought most of the family from Pricilla's Pour House to the Pocketstone for Breakfast. Actually, most of the staff were on leave as Ashley and Amber had just recently enlarged their families.
This is Priscilla, the namesake of Pricilla's Pour House, with her new brother, Wylie.
Shanna Richmond and Amanda Hartelust of Salt Lake city had a great visit to Bigfork and to the Pocketstone. Shanna considers Bigfork her home town. Amanda wishes it were. Dave was, obviously, doing his part to make them both feel welcome.
Abe Serrato stops by most mornings for coffee, but can usually be found a few doors down the street at the front counter of Electric Avenue Gifts.
